The Senior Leadership Program is a competitive, leveled program that aims to assist high school aged youth with developing skills and gaining experience that will encourage success with finding employment. The Boys & Girls Club of London offers a variety of leadership experiences to youth that cater to their personal interests and goals.
Career Launch is a series of workshops that will offer insight into career paths, as well as provide youth with the opportunity to practice skills and gain knowledge that will allow them to be successful within their basic placement.
The Boys & Girls Club of London is excited to offer 6 Leadership Streams. Participants will choose which stream they wish to explore after completing Career Launch, based on their interests and career goals.
Shifts are available weeknights from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Shift availability will differ by stream.
Participants will be offered a maximum of 3 pre-determined certifications according to their stream.
Leaders at this level will participate in an Employment Preparation course that will focus on information relevant to finding employment! This training is meant to provide the youth with opportunities to fine tune their skills related to seeking and obtaining employment.
Upon entering a community placement, Leaders will transition out of the Boys & Girls Club of London's Leadership Program. Community Placements will be available based on each stream. Participants will spend 2-3 months in their community placement. At the end of the placement, Leaders may be offered employment at their placement agency, or will be encouraged to seek employment independently.
