Building an education fund to support:
M.A.P. My Action Plan to Education
Serving Boys and Girls Club members
From Grade 4 through post-secondary education
Together, on our way to $5 million!
THEIR DREAMS ARE DIFFERENT;
THEIR NEEDS ARE NEVER THE SAME.
The Horizons Campaign launched by the Boys and Girls Club of London Foundation is intended to create a $5 million
self-sustaining fund to help 100 of your youth each year work toward high school graduation and beyond.
My Action Plan to Education is comprehensive program designed to assist our young Club members who are at high risk of leaving secondary school prior to graduation, and
whose financial considerations leave little room for entertaining the dream of higher education. M.A.P. will ensure support and guidance every step of the way along their
educational journey.
Successful funding and implementation of the M.A.P. Program will truly complete our mandate at the Boys & Girls Club of London; to help our young people escape the cycle
of poverty through education.
Through M.A.P our qualifying students will receive:
Tutoring in five core subjects |
Career, group and peer mentor support
Immediate financial assistance for transportation, food, clothing, books and other educational support
materials |
Access to student/parent support workers to help connect teens with parents, school administration, teachers and
community agencies |
Post- secondary bursaries and scholarships to offset tuition |
In London, recent studies show an average of 33% of students does not graduate from
secondary school. With your help we will change those numbers.
Breaking the Cycle of Poverty through Education can help ensure a single adult earns annual income
beyond the poverty level of *$14,253 after tax dollars.
