Senior's ProgramsAquatics The Horton St. Seniors' Centre has an extensive aquatic program. Members can enjoy daily recreational and fitness swims in the Aquaplex Pool each day at no charge. The Aquaplex consists of a 25 metre, 6 lane pool and a whirlpool. There are 14 aquafit classes weekly. Both shallow and deep aquafit classes are offered on a sessional basis. There are 3 sessions in a year with each session being approximately 12 - 14 weeks long. Registration is required for aquafit classes and the cost is $10.00 (one class a week). During the Summer months, the Aquafit classes are pay as you go with the cost being $2.00 / class. LONDON LIFE FAMILY WELLNESS CENTRE This new addition to our facility is a warm water pool (94o) with water jets and equipped with a chair lift. At the Horton Street Seniors' Centre we offer a variety of recreational and social programs, some of which include, euchre, darts, shuffleboard, morning fitness walks, floor exercises, yoga, badminton, carpetball, crafts, bingo, ceramics, line dancing, tai chi, woodcarving, bowling and much more!
Forward Bound This is a supportive leisure program that provides assistance to older adults who find it difficult to attend programs and activities at the Centre on their own. The program brings these seniors into the club to enjoy different social, recreational and light physical activities. It takes place on Mondays from 12:00-2:00pm. If you are interested in volunteering, joining Forward Bound, or know someone who would benefit from it contact 519-434-9115 Tori Mils (Ext. 237) or Tracy Ralph (Ext. 258). Our Fitness Room Coordinator is a graduate from the Fitness & Health Promotion Program and has obtained various certifications, specializations and qualifications in her over 20 years experience. She will design a workout regime acording to your fitness level. Fitness Room Regulations
Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 3 pm. Unsupervised after 12 pm.
