Horton Street Seniors Centre

Our Hours of operations are from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm (September to June) & 7:00 am – 1:00 pm (July to August)

The Horton Street Seniors' Center provides recreational activities for seniors ages 55 and up. We offer exercise programs, aqua-fit classes, card games such as crib, bridge and euchre, as well as crafts, quilting, drama group and choir.

Seniors stay active while participating in our yoga classes, line dancing, darts, tai chi, badminton and morning fitness walks to name a few! We have a fitness room where seniors have access to personalized programs depending on their individual fitness level. There is a foot care clinic that runs on the fourth Thursday of each month and there are many special events and day trips that take place on a regular basis.

All memberships are active for one year from date of purchase.

Full Membership Fee: Based on Household Annual Income $70 - $200
Activity Pass: $35/year
(Activity Pass allows access to one program per week, must be the same program each week. Excludes all pool programs & fitness room)

Visitors' Fee:
      $3/day - Activity programs & Afternoon recreation swim only. Includes parking.

Parking Pass:$30/year or $3/month

Seniors have full access to our transportation services by calling the transportation department at (519) 434-9119.

Some of the benefits seniors can achieve from being involved in the Centre:
  •     Get into a routine.
  •     Cope mentally with the aging process.
  •     Meet new people.
  •     Provides them with social intervention.
Daily Programs

At the Horton Street Seniors' Centre we offer a variety of recreational and social programs, some of which include, euchre, darts, shuffleboard, morning fitness walks, floor exercises, yoga, badminton, carpetball, crafts, bingo, ceramics, line dancing, tai chi, woodcarving, bowling and much more!

Special Events
There is always something going on at our Centre! We offer a variety of Special Events throughout the year some including Luncheons, Swim-A- Thon, Penny Sale, Health Fair, Summer Picnic, Silent Auction and much more. Trips

Escape for the day with our fun loving group. We offer a variety of day trips year round, from shopping to theatre going.

Income Tax Clinic
Each year in March we offer free income tax return preparation for individuals whose household income is less then $15,000 without dependants, and less than $22,500 with dependants. For more information or to make an appointment please call (519) 434-9114.

Forward Bound
The Forward Bound Program targets socially isolated seniors in the City of London. The program provides a safe and social environment for seniors who are housebound and often would not have an opportunity to socialize throughout the week. These seniors are isolated due to frailty, financial barriers, physical or mental illness, widowhood or lack of family and friends. This program includes an ability- appropriate fitness calls, light refreshments and various social activities. Transportation to and from the program is available if needed, with a small fee for the individual. It takes place on Mondays from 12:00-2:00pm. If you are interested in volunteering, joining Forward Bound, or know someone who would benefit from it contact 519-434-9115 Allie Holbrough (Ext. 237).
