Skilled4Success 101 is a one-week pre-employment training program that supports students Grades 9 to 12 (13 to 18 years old) in the development of key employability skills for success in the workplace and or/post-secondary, such as teamwork, communication, self-awareness, problem-solving skills, and more.
Through a combination of skill-building sessions as well as opportunities to learn and practice skills in a supportive placement, participants of the program will:
- Discover the industries of Food Service & Hospitality, Customer Service & Retail, and Child, Youth & Recreation!
- Learn how to prepare for and be successful in job interviews!
- Create a resume and craft your Elevator Pitch!
- Learn about child development, conflict resolution tips, and games and activities for children!
- Plan and facilitate your own craft, game or activity in our children's summer day camp at the end of the week!
- Get 20 volunteer hours!
- And more!
Once you have completed the program, you will have the opportunity to participate in a fun and supportive placement offered at BGC or in the community this summer!
