Fitness Programs

No matter your fitness level or mobility, we have something for you! You can set and meet your goals in our non-intimidating, friendly facility. Staying active is good for your physical and mental Health!

Fitness Room

Our fitness room is equipped with*:

  • Treadmills
  • Recumbent & Upright Bikes
  • Rowing Machines
  • Elliptical machines
  • Free Weights
  • Strength Machines
  • Multi-workout Stations
  • Chin up Bar
  • Stability Ball
  • Area for Stretching

*Due to COVID-19 restrictions, some of the equipment may not be available. 

Our Fitness Room Coordinator is a graduate from the Fitness & Health Promotion Program and has obtained various certifications, specializations and qualifications. She will design a workout regime according to your fitness level.

Fitness Room Regulations

  • Must be a Club member.
  • Ensure that your Doctor is made aware of your exercise intentions.
  • New members must meet with coordinator for an orientation before using the Fitness Room.
  • Fill out the required documents.
  • Indoor running shoes and appropriate exercise attire.
  • Must pre-register for a time slot - please contact Emily if you did not receive the program registration link in your e-mail. It is sent every two weeks to current and new members. Or call us at 519-434-9114.

Fitness Room/Weight Room - 6 time slots, Monday to Friday. 10 members per time slot.

  • 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
  • 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
  • 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
  • 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
  • 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Designated Washroom to use: Northeast corner (located outside the Fitness Room)

Members are required to clean each piece of equipment after every use. A deep clean will be conducted in between each time slot by a staff member.

Please note: Members must abide by the physical distancing guidelines at all times in the Fitness Room. Under provincial guidelines, masks are not mandated to be worn while exercising but the HSSC encourages all members to wear their masks while working out in the Fitness Room.

Seated Exercise classes - 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday

Location: Gym

Doors open at 11:15 a.m.

Designated Washroom to use: Northeast washrooms located outside the Fitness Room

Walking Program - 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., Monday to Thursday

Location:  Gym

Designated Washroom to use: Northeast washrooms located outside the Fitness Room

Yoga (Paid Program) - 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., starting Tuesday, September 21st, 2021

Location: Freemasons Room

Designated Washrooms to use: By the Music Room

Meditation (Paid Program) - 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., starting Thursday, September 22nd, 2021

Location: Freemasons Room

Designated Washrooms to use: By the Music Room

Tai Chi - 9:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting Tuesday, October 5th

Location: Freemasons Room

Designated Washrooms to use: By the Music Room

PLEASE NOTE: More programs will be offered at a later date. The HSSC follows all provincial and local guidelines. More programs will be offered when it is safe to do so.
